What Is the HFI RC3?
The HFI RC3 is an EN 1627-1630 Resistance Class 3 certified burglar-resistant sectional overhead door — an independently tested and verified security door for commercial and industrial applications where documented, certifiable physical security at the overhead door opening is required. RC3 certification demonstrates tested resistance against an experienced attacker using a second set of tools including chisels, crowbars, wedges and hammers for the specified attack period defined in EN 1627.
The difference between a “security door” in marketing terms and a certified RC3 door is the existence of an independent test. The HFI RC3 has been physically attacked by a skilled test team using the tools and methods defined in EN 1627-1630, and the results have been documented, witnessed and certified. No self-declared security rating has the same evidentiary standing as a third-party tested and certified Resistance Class result.
