Progressive Deformation — Debris Prevention
The Gliderol Blast Resistant Shutter is an industrial roller shutter designed and independently validated to resist blast pressure loads — rated at two performance levels (PL1 and PL2) following finite element analysis by ABS Consulting Group, Texas USA, and full-scale shock tube testing. It is manufactured by GDS Global Limited (Gliderol Doors Singapore), a company listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX Catalist), ISO 9001/14001/45001 certified, and operating from a 7,797 sqm manufacturing facility in Singapore.
The Australian market for blast-resistant building closures spans defence facilities, petrochemical and oil and gas processing plants, mining explosives storage buildings, LNG terminal plant rooms, infrastructure control buildings and critical government facilities. In each of these applications, the door or shutter at external openings is a critical component in the blast protection strategy of the building — if it fails, the building interior is exposed to the overpressure and debris that the surrounding structure was designed to contain.
